Was given this little piece of history when I went down to Ohakune to visit my parents. They gave this Kodak Box Brownie camera to me, which belonged to my late Grandfather. Apparently he had it out all the time taking family photos of everyone who would partake in getting their photo taken lol.
This Box Brownie is the ‘Six-20 Brownie C’ model and was manufactured in the UK. It was introduced in 1946, where it was active through to 1953 and discontinued in 1957. The Shutter is a single blade and the Lens is 100mm Meniscus f/11 with a film size of 620. It has a Morocco-grained imitation leather covered metal body, two brilliant finders, plain matt enamel front, metal wind knob and release button.
Was pretty cool to get this piece of my grandfather’s history, that I have only recently learnt about. While it is looking a little worse for wear and is no longer working…it was a very well used camera. So I thought why not do a series of shots of it to showcase its glory.
